Make amazing recumbent load carrying trikes and run a bike recycling scheme, which provides a source of components for the trikes and the better bits (or whole bikes) are donated to other cycling schemes in Sheffield.
They currently recycle bikes from Sheffield University and want to extend it to Hallam University, the police, the local tips and a personal pick up service.

A bicycle refurbishing project that aims to promote environmental awareness and sustainable development, researched by CERT (community economic regeneration team). A pilot project is being developed with a work based training programme.

The project also promotes the environmental and sustainable development aspect of cycling to the local community of and identifies alternative methods of transport that complement local transport and environmental plans.

Gremlin's Cycle Library and Workshop


GCLW is a not-for-profit bike project based in Oldham. They take in donations of old bikes and refurbish or recycle them to help provide safe, inexpensive bikes for the community. Some of the bikes go into their bike library to be loaned out to individuals and community groups. Surplus bikes are sold to the general public in order to raise funds to cover running costs.

Gremlins provide:
• Training in bike maintenance and repair, and bike-building
• Bike repairs using recycled parts wherever possible
• Bike loans to individuals and groups
• Custom-built bikes
